“Fall” into a new Denver leather jacket

October 2, 2019

“Fall” into a new Denver leather jacket
Fall is here, and it’s time to get in gear with a brand new (and perfect for you) leather jacket. Denver leather jackets are the fall must-have fashion accessory, and they can certainly elevate a look. While leather jackets can certainly be an investment, it’s well worth the money and effort to maintain a great looking leather jacket. Here are our five reasons why you need to invest in a Denver leather jacket this fall. If you already have one, why not get another?!

Versatile
Leather jackets are great for a number reasons, but one of the biggest reasons is because of their versatility. You can pair them with anything, particularly neutral colored leather jackets. When you purchase a leather jacket, always think about how you’d like to use your leather jacket. This will impact color choices, as well as the number of fixtures you have on the jacket itself.

Youthful
Looking for an easy way to keep your youthful appearance? A leather jacket is not only the perfect accessory/complementary piece, but it’ll help you keep a youthful appearance. Let’s face it, we love a good accessory piece that helps us to look even a few years younger.

Comfortable
The longer you wear leather, the more comfortable it gets. Leather is known to “wear in,” making the jacket softer and ultimately more comfortable. A worn-in leather jacket tends to fit you better, and can create a slightly rugged look - which looks good on a leather jacket!

Timeless
Leather jackets are classic. A timeless piece that only gets better with age, a leather jacket will never go out of style. It’s versatility, comfortability, and a number of unique styles ensures that you can truly wear your leather jacket for decades to come.

Longevity
Besides style, a leather jacket has longevity. It’s high-quality material can have it lasting decades as well. Normal wear and tear is nothing to a leather jacket, and as long as you take good care of it the leather jacket is well worth the investment. If you ever have questions about proper leather jacket storage and care, contact us at Jonval - we are here to help.

Whether it is your first, or tenth, we are here to help you pick the perfect leather jacket for your closet. Finding ways to sport a leather jacket and jeans this fall doesn’t have to be hard...in fact it can be easy! The great thing about leather jackets is that you can purchase neutral colored jackets that fit with almost any shade of jean pants. Here are a few of our favorite jean looks to sport this fall with your Denver leather jacket:

Black Leather
Have a black leather jacket? Here are some of our tips/recommendations:
Pull out your best pair of heels, pull on your black leather jacket, and a nice pair of black skinny jeans.
Wear a pair of black jeans, a black blouse, and black leather jacket for a chic, all black look.
A relaxed t-shirt, paired with comfortable jeans can be dressed up with a motorcycle leather jacket.
Want a throw-back look? Pair a striped shirt, relaxed jeans and a motorcycle-style jacket for a unique...but impactful statement.
Dial up the drama with a long flowy scarf, flare jeans, and your favorite black leather jacket. This look is perfect for creating a stand-out look, with throwback feels.

Colored Leather
Do you have a colored leather jacket? Don’t panic! There are still a few things you can do to style your leather jacket for the fall. Not only will you stay warm, and comfortable, but you’ll be ready to make a fashion statement in no time.
Cropped jeans, a bold colored jacket, and an animal print make a killer combination for day time casual, or an early dinner date.
Ooh...a white leather jacket? While styling with a white leather jacket can be a little trickier, it can also make a powerful statement. Wearing a white leather jacket with black jeans and a blouse not only looks casual, but polished.
Pink leather jackets also pair nicely with black jeans, but the good news is it can also pair nicely with a classic pair of blue jeans.

The five different types of fur you need to know about when selecting a Denver fur jacket

The five different types of fur you need to know about when selecting a Denver fur jacket
With colder months just around the corner you might be considering purchasing a fur jacket. We definitely think it’s worth the investment! While true fur jackets might be more expensive, they will be longer lasting, and ultimately easier to care for. Fur jackets will not only keep you warm throughout the winter, but they are a valuable fashion statement that will instantly add flair and upgrade any wardrobe. When purchasing a fur jacket there are a few types of fur you should be on the lookout for, here are some of the ones we feel that you need to know about.

Chinchilla
Yes, this is the fur of a pet Chinchilla - meaning it’s extraordinarily soft. It’s light, soft, silky, and extremely comfortable. Because of its versatility and softness, Chinchilla fur does tend to be some of the most expensive fur you can buy. Because of it’s expensiveness and comfortability, we recommend reserving any Chinchilla jackets for special occasions.

Beaver
Beaver fur is very versatile and long-lasting. While most of these coats will come in a natural brown, it’s going to be one of the most durable jackets that money can buy. Beaver jackets are perfect for those wanting a jacket they can wear out often. For those looking for a classic look, Beaver fur is the perfect solution.

Coyote
Speaking of durable and long-lasting jackets - coyote fur is growing in popularity because of just that. Not only is it durable and long-lasting, but it has unique silver and brown hues that give this type of fur a very casual look. If you are the type of person who is looking for a casual, yet sporty look, then this fur is the fur for you.

Fox
If you are looking for a wide-range of color options, you should give fox fur a glance! Fox is one of the best types of furs for those looking for a few different color options or even for those wanting to purchase a few fur coats, all that have different looks and colors. Who doesn’t love a closet full of options?

Lynx
Luxurious and beautiful, Lynx fur is show-stopping. There are three types of Lynx fur you can commonly get - American, Canadian, and Russian. The prices go up, respectively, and ultimately the type of Lynx fur you get should depend on how much you are wanting to spend and the quality you are looking for. To give you perspective, American and Canadian fur typically range from $2,000 - $6,000...while Russian Lynx fur can reach upwards of $15,000. Choose wisely!

Preparing your Denver jackets for the fall temperatures and weather changes

Preparing your Denver jackets for the fall temperatures and weather changes

Hello September! Fall is just weeks away, and as you are preparing your fall wardrobe you’ll need to break out your leather and fur jackets. Even if you have stored all of your jackets properly, you’ll need to give them a good cleaning before wearing them out in the elements - especially if they’ve been in storage for awhile. Here are favorite tips to getting your jackets ready for the upcoming season.

Leather Jackets
We love a good leather jacket in Denver...and who doesn’t really? With a number of different styles, colors, and fixtures a leather jacket can truly fit with anyone’s wardrobe. Even if you have been wearing your leather jacket all summer, there are a few things you should do to get your leather jacket ready for the fall. There’s a chance that your leather jacket isn’t water-resistant, so always check the tags before making any major decisions.

If the leather is not weather-resistant, you will need to treat the leather with a special kind of proofing. If you are unsure of what to use, contact us at Jonval. Follow the directions very carefully, and make sure that you allow the leather jacket time to completely dry before wearing it out of the house.

If you’re breaking your leather jacket out from storage, you’ll need to treat it as well. But before doing so get a slightly damp cloth and wipe off your leather jacket. After wiping down the jacket, take time to dry the jacket off with a dry cloth and allow the leather to sit to fully air dry. Once your jacket is completely dry, proceed with using a water-resistant treatment. While it is time consuming, a leather jacket is a purchase and you should treat it as such.

Fur Jackets
If you have been using it throughout the summer - you’re in luck! There won’t be much to do to prepare your coat for the colder months, just continue taking care of the fur and keeping an eye out for any repairs that might need done. If your jacket needs a repair and you neglect it, you could ultimately harm the fur and cost yourself more in the long run.

If you are breaking the fur jacket out for the first time, you will have a little additional maintenance to complete prior to wearing it for the first time. Bring your fur jacket out of storage and give it a light shake. If you haven’t been hanging your fur jacket during the off months, place it carefully on the hanger and allow the jacket to breathe for a few hours. We then recommend you take it to your local fur store for an inspection (if it needs repairs), as well as a light cleaning. Once again, not taking proper care of your jacket investments can cost you more in the long run.

No matter what type of jacket you have, we are here to help you prepare for the seasonal changes. Our experts are ready to give you top-notch customer service, and we couldn’t be more excited to help you. With a wide variety of fur (and leather) jackets at your disposal, we can find the jacket that’s perfect for you and matches your style.
